When former Woodburn Dragstrip owner/operator and Northwest Division Hall-of-Famer passed away May 31st 2025, thoughts turned to how we could honor him moving forward and the lasting impact he made.  The Northwest Division is proud to announce the Jim Livingston MVP award that will be handed out annually during the Summit ET Finals, held this year at Mission Raceway Park.

The MVP will be chosen by the Northwest Division staff based on a racer’s performance during the entirety of the event.   The winner can come from any of the categories competing August 28-31, 2025.  The winner will receive a Wally bearing Jim’s name.

“Jim Livingston is a big reason why the Summit ET Finals is the event it is today.  His passion for Woodburn and wanting to put his racers against all the other NHRA Member Tracks spurred the competitive spirit we have in our division” said Division Director Mike Eames.

This award, in addition to the previously announced Best on Best competition that will debut on Thursday evening adds to an already jam-packed Summit ET Finals.  Racing starts on Thursday with test and tune leading into Friday’s gambler race.  The team race kicks off on Saturday while we conclude the week with the Race of Champions.  The winners of Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Bike/Sled Sunday earn the chance to represent the Northwest Division at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway at the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals October 30 – November 2!
