Nl’Akapxm Eagle Motorplex in Ashcroft, B.C., has rejoined the NHRA Member Track Network.  Built in 1987, the multi-use motorsports facility will once again become a member of the Northwest Division.

The facility features a quarter-mile dragstrip, a 2.1-kilometer motocross track and a new ESSO full service travel station at the main entrance to the facility.  Track officials also have plans to construct a new tower for the dragstrip this season.

The track will host a slate of NHRA Summit Racing Series and Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League events during the year, including seven double-header weekends that run from May through September.

“The track has had some great history with NHRA in the past,” said Sue McKay, track manager of Nl’Akapxm Eagle Motorplex. “We have a new start this year and we are really looking forward to adding to that history going forward.”

As an NHRA-sanctioned track, the facility will be eligible to offer racers a variety of NHRA racing opportunities, including the NHRA Summit Racing Series, the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League, NHRA Jr. Street and the NHRA Drags: Street Legal Style presented by AAA.   Additionally, the track has the opportunity to host NHRA’s specialty events including the National DRAGSTER Challenge, NHRA Summit King of the Track, and NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League Challenge.

“Having another place to race in Western Canada is good news for drag racing in the Northwest,” said Matt Levonas, NHRA Pacific Division director. “We're thrilled to have the track back in the NHRA family.”
